Professor Murray (School Owner)
Academy Founder and School Owner Professor Murray has been involved in Martial Arts of one kind or another since 1973. He fell in love with Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu when he was first introduced to it in 2009 and has been on a mission to share the wider benefits of the art with everyone ever since. He is a 1st degree Black Belt under the world renowned Professor Victor Estima. No longer active as a Masters 7 (60yrs +) Competitor (although he says never say never) when he is not busy running the Academy or teaching classes he undertakes official duties in the wider Gracie Barra movement in the UK. Professor Murray is usually your first instructor when you join the team and takes great care to ensure your initial experiences lay the foundations for a lifetime of fascination with this art we call “human Chess”

Professor Eli (Head Coach)
Professor Eli Harrison received his Black Belt from Professor Victor Estima in June of 2025 after 10+ years of frequent and consistent training. He is a highly active competitor known for his dynamic, exciting and fast flowing game. With Multiple podium top step achievements (at all ranks) to date in his career, Professor Eli has carved himself a reputation for being a tough and exciting BJJ competitor.
He is also Head Coach at GBGloucester, with responsibilities for developing the direction and quality of BJJ taught at the academy. The attributes of his fighting style, which he naturally brings with him as an Instructor, blended with the core strengths of the Gracie Barra structured curriculum provide for an excellent mix of solid foundational Jiu Jitsu and an exciting modern game approach that is suitable for all ages.
